Tim Horne if your display seems to be turning off and on repeatedly it is possible that this is caused by your backlight strips or a bad power supply (unlikely). We would need to see exactly how it behaves and what model it is. You can add a short video clip with your question which will allow us to see what you see. Use this iFixitでの質問に画像を追加する方法 and add videos the same way you would add pictures.
