Mac internal disk cant have mac os installed on it

About a year ago i erased my Mac and installed Windows on it, so that there is no MacOS partition, only Windows.

Now i want to go back to MacOS, so I went into recovery mode, only it displayed the 2003F error. I then made a bootable installer on a 8 GB USB, and then went into Disk Utility from there.

I tried to erase the internal drive so I could install Mojave on it. It displayed the error “Erase process had failed. Click Done to Continue”. I erased it with the name “Macintosh HD” and in the MacOS extended (journaled) format. Then it would not mount, so I tried running First Aid, and it instantly said “First Aid process has failed. If possible back up the data on this volume. Click Done to continue.

I’m going to try installing MacOS on an external hard drive and then restoring the disk from that.

If that doesnt work, why is it doing that and how do i fix this?

I think you are at a dead end here ;-{

From what you’ve stated the drive has failed and will need to be replaced. The failure of Disk Utility tells me that.

Depending on what you are planning on using your system for it might be a great time to upgrade the drive to something larger.
