Why isn't my microphone working?

I have an LG V30, but I use apple earpods because they have better quality and last longer than the ones you can buy at the store. My microphone stopped working about three days ago and I have no idea why. The sound works just fine but the mic just won’t pick up my voice. I’ve tried on my phone and laptop and they both don’t work. Please help, thank you! (:
