How to fix lines in the screen?

Hi!

A few days ago I disconnected my phone screen as it was very dark and wasn’t working properly. ( I had done this before for a temporary fix which seemed to work for about month)

Anyway I did this again a couple of days ago as it became dark again, and now my phone screen has lines in it.

I thought perhaps I didn’t connect the phone screen cables properly, so I’ve been disconnecting them and reconnecting them. I’ve attempted this 8 times , making sure that the connectors click into place before moving on to the next wire.

Also I’ve tried using a brush to clean the wires just in case of dust stopping it.

Does anyone still think its because I am not connecting up the cables properly or might there be another reason?

The lines on the screen are caused by damaged screen cables or physical damage to the screen. You’ll need to replace the screen to fix that problem.

The other problem which is the screen going dark can be caused by a bad connection from the logic board to the screen. Like above, probably due to damaged screen cables, I would also suspect the screen connectors on the logic board as well as they could be worn from improperly plugging them in or just reseating the connectors too many times.

You can try a screen replacement but in my opinion I think it’s better to take it to someone that is more experienced like a reputable repair shop if you want it fixed well.
