Replaced DVD with a SSD 1TB and cannot write in disk and unmountable

I have replaced the DVD with a SSD 1TB drive and I cannot erase it, nor fix it, nor apply Disk Utility´s first aid. I formatted the disk vía USB box and it worked fine, I transferred the information onto it and when in the DVD bay, the disk can be read but not written. I switched with the main hard disk and it works fine. I replaced the disk in the bay with a 500GB mechanical disk and it works fine. With this later disk the negotiated link speed is 3 gigabits, while the links speed is 6 gigabits. When with the SSD, the negotiated link speed is also 6 gigabits. OWC website has a warning regarding installing SSD on this model instead of the DVD. How can I make this SSD works in this MacBook? Thank you,

You are likely hitting a known issue with the optical drive bay. It’s not able to support a SATA III (6.0 Gb/s) drive (a SSD in your case). This has nothing to do with the carrier you used but a design issue within the MacBook Pro its self.

Review the Red notation for your system here OWC Data Doubler you’ll see the MacBookPro8,2 series has a Red notation and if you go down to the bottom of the page you’l see the details.

You’ll need to get a fixed SATA II (3.0 Gb/s) SSD as the auto sense versions ones that are able to work at SATA III as well as SATA II won’t work either. As an example the Samsung 860 EVO SSD which supports all three SATA I/O speeds.
