water liquid indicator locations
where are the water indicators located on the iphone x? i see one where the above the sim tray on the screen, are there any others? checking to see if a phone i bought had water damage.

Nope. There are no other indicator locations. There is only 1 in the SIM card slot and that is it.

There is no way to know for sure if an iPhone X you bought has water damage or not. The water susceptibility area is BETWEEN the main board and the RF board which are soldered together. Water commonly enters at SIM tray and a drop can settle in a tiny corner of the board and roll UNDER the SIM tray leaving little or no microscopic traces that it was there until you desolder the two halves of the board.

Anyone know how sensitive these indicators are? I bought an iPhone X on Dec 8, had it in the bathroom on the vanity while I had a shower and after that, facial recognition did not work any longer. Worked with support on Dec 13 and sent to repair. They send a note back and said that there is evidence of exposure to liquid as the liquid indicators were triggered. I explained to them that he phone may have had steam exposure and they said that repair would be $719 plus tax. Asked about the IP67 rating and they said liquid exposure is not under warranty. No other issues other than facial recognition. Forward and reverse cameras both work. Doesn’t make a lot of sense to me. Buyer be ware!!!!!
