Why cant' I be heard when I make outgoing calls?

Try making or receiving a call, using the earphones with the microphone attachment OR with the phone in speakerphone mode, to test if you can be heard OK.

If you still cannot be heard then there is a problem with the voice transmission circuitry in the phone. (Has it been dropped or gotten wet at all?)

If you can be heard OK then the internal microphone is either faulty or has come loose from the systemboard or perhaps the voice inlet hole, located on the bottom edge of the phone, may be blocked with lint etc.

To check out the latter possibility, use a strong light and a magnifying glass to check if the voice inlet hole is blocked.

If it is (or even if you can’t tell) DO NOT use a pin or probe to try and clear the obstruction. You may damage the microphone which is directly behind the hole. Try using a vacuum cleaner instead to clear the obstruction.
