Monitor will not work with hdmi.
Monitor says that the hdmi to mini display port is active but no picture from computer. Other port works with the dvi adapter to vga port. When I try to switch over, nothing.

Check your both your systems and displays settings. Sounds like your display is set for to high a refresh rate than your older Mac Mini can support.

It was not easy to decipher what i needed to change but eventually, i was able to get it going. The settings did not spell it out but after changing some display values, the refresh option came up. Thanks for the help!
