Why does my tab keep rebooting when connected to the charger

My yoga tab 10 hd + keeps rebooting when it is connected to the charger.sometimes the screen shows the lenovo logo and turns off immediately this goes on as long as the charger cable is connected. It doesnt boot at all when not connected to the charger.

I beleive that the battery must be replaced.Any other alternative solutions are most welcome
