Can I swap a dual graphics logic board with integrated graphics board

I have a Macbook Pro 15” Late 2013 with 2.3 I7 dual graphics. The board went out so I thought I would change it myself. Purchased a used one and after a complete tear down I notice the board is different, it does not have a card. At this point the graphics card is not that big of a deal to me, I need to get the pc up and running so I can work. I can see that the heat sink does not line up. Can I install this board with the Integrated Graphics if I get a new heat sink? Will everything work ok? I do not want to destroy the board I purchased as I could still return it if needed. Thank You

Well I don’t know the answer, but it doesn’t look like I will need it. I took a shower and got to thinking, the paste was a little dry on the old one. It would run until it got warm and then just shut off. But on a cold start once in a while I could get an hour out of it with light use. So I cleaned up the Heat Sync real nice with some Articlean and put some new paste on. Computer has been running non stop doing whatever I ask it to. Will post back if It stops running but Think that was the trick, didn’t need a new logic board after all.

I’ve never performed such replacement myself but I would think if the board you purchased is EMC 2674 it should fit other late 2013 Macs topcases. Check first all connectors on your new and old boards overlap correctly. It’s normal that with a different chips layout you need a different heatsink, but I’m quite sure it will sit correctly in position above the fans in the end. You’ll need patience and care and if unsure double check this replacement guide, steps are quite a few but nothing really that difficult.
