Model LTF550HQ03 TV will not turn on but can hear crackling noise.

I have read other responses for the above problem with Samsung TV but have found no bad capactors or anything that looks burnt or damaged. Vacuumed the interior the first time this happened and it came back on again for about 4 weeks and the problem returned again . Removed the back again everything looked okay but this time I tried heating the main circuit board BN94-02696G with a hair dryer until warm and tried turning on TV and it came on again. Been working ever since. Boards are unavailable for this what would cause this? Any suggestions of what it could be? Any help would be appreciated. Thank you Bill

I'm sorry for the delay in my response but i thank you for responding. It really is crazy that a hair dryer would do the trick. Any ideas on where to find a replacement on it since Samsung doesn’t make parts available for this TV anymore. I've seen where they repair boards at a few places on the internet, any recommendations. thanks again

since the hair dryer helped you out it sounds like you are having a bad IC. The heat from the hair dryer causes just enough deformity of the IC to close the “solder bumps” (take a look on here for more reading if interested) This is not a permanent fix. The constant heating and cooling (turning the TV off and onn) will once more open teh solder bumps and cause the same issue. Unless you can find a new IC or a new board this will contiune to go on.
