S7 unresponsive and not charging after lcd replacement

I recently replaced lcd and digitizer on S7 but now it's completely unresponsive. It won't charge or indicate it's charging, it won't turn on at all. While replacing lcd and digitizer I took out the battery and put back the battery once lcd and digitizer were installed. Could it be that I damaged the battery? However battery isn't swollen and at first when I charged it even though it was completely unresponsive the phone got warm and I thought was receiving charge. Could a new battery solve this issue?
