Hey Frank
There is a solution to your problem!
There isn't a way to directly import the pictures from the camera to your iPad, however you can buy a dongle from Apple that converts SD cards to the lighting port. once the dongle is connected you can open the app of your choice and import your pictures.
Remember you will be removing the SD card from the camera to complete this, you CANNOT connect your camera to your iPad
