Why are there vertical lines on half of my TV?

I recently moved houses and made sure I kept my TV safe by wrapping many blankets around it and securely moving it to my new house. So I know for a fact that there was no damage done when I moved it.

The lines on the TV run vertically down the left side, with the other half of the TV working perfectly. What can this be?

@kaymills sorry to be the bearer of bad news. That is a broken LCD. Your panel clearly shows damage which is NOT related to an loose cable etc.

There is no repairing it. It will have to be repalced. LCD panels are sometimes hard to find (dpending on size and make) and will most often cost more than a new TV. You can try and find one on places like ebay etc. Remvoe teh back of your TV and check the label afixed to the LCD panel. It should have a maker and model. Use that to check for a replacement.

Good catch. I did not see the bottom of the screen which clearly shows cracks.
