Why did the replacement battery fail?
After about 3 months, the battery has failed.

It could be a faulty battery. If you got it in April of this year it is still under ifixit's one year warranty so you could swap it out.

Could be? It is faulty. They sent me a defective battery. I find it ridiculous that the battery is guaranteed to function for only 1 year.
