I was driving on the highway when my car stopped. before my car quit I was having long crank times. At the time my car stopped i was pushing the gas but it wouldnt accelerate. Then it finally died out. Now it just keeps turning over but wont start. My trunk also pops when I turn the key over. What could be the problem?

I would check fuel delivery---fuel pump/filter and make sure the lines are clear and you are receiving fuel at the engine. Another possibility would be the catalytic converter. You can test this by temporarily disconnecting it and seeing if your vehicle starts and runs but I would check out the fuel system first.
