100% battery wear within 5 weeks (on 5th generic battery replacement)

Hello,

Ive had my iPhone 5s for quite a while, about 4.5 years, and 6 months ago I replaced the original battery because it was was time.

In these past 6 months, I've had to change battery again and again roughly after 4-6 weeks. The batteries were generic with original capacity and 0 cycles (checked on Cocunut battery). Within days of usage the battery wear level kept lowering at a fast pace to the point that after 2 weeks, if they phone reached 30-50% it may turn off and not turn back on, or restart. The phone also gets so hot at times I can't hold it in my hand.

I am currently on my 5th replacement battery now, according to Coconut Battery its at 55 cycles, and hold only 12/1560 mAh . Unplugged it lasts about 10 min max and then dies, and takes 2 h to charge fully.

So far I've disconnected (one by one) the charging port cables, the upper right corner screen cables, and checked to see if battery still drains fast and if any pins were damaged but it doesn't seem to be the problem.

Can some one please help me try to figure out whats wrong? Ive read about Tristar chip/U2 but it does charge, and I use original charger with mfi amazon certified cable.

Thank you!

Your phone could be suffering from a partial short somewhere on the logic board, which would explain the heat or it could be suffering from "fake charging" and that would be related to the charge circuit (Tristar/U2).

If you have access to a USB Ammeter, you could use that to determine if the phone is really drawing current when it says it's charging.

If it's charging properly, then the logic board needs to be looked at but that is not a DIY repair.
