art tube preamp won't power on -- will a bad tube cause this?
2006 ART tube preamp
no lights come on with either phantom power or a proven 9 volt AC power source
can this be a symptom of a bad tube?

@paulbiere probably not. I suspect the tubes are audio tubes driving the amp but not the power. If you have no sign of life start looking at the power supply/circuit. Disassemble it using this guide Art Tube MP AMP 12 AX7A Tube Replacement and take a look for obvious damaged components, lose wiring etc. Post some good images of your boards etc. with your question.
