Testing with different batteries

I have an iP5 not charging at all. I wanted to try using the battery from one of my other broke iPhones to see if its the batter or the charging circuit. I don't to completely install the battery, just plug it into the iP5 and see if it charges. Basically, does any other iPhone have the same plug as the iP5?

Or is there some other way to test the iP5? I have cleaned the charging port and contacts. When I plug it in (various combos of chargers and cords) I get the white outlined battery with the red lines at the bottom for 10 seconds. I leave it plugged in and nothing happens. If I move the cord a little I get the lightning bolt and charging cable icon. indicating that the cord has actually came off the charging contacts.

I was planning on ordering a battery anyway, I just wanted to trouble shoot a little more to see if I need to order anything else.
