A particular App won't play

When I try to open an app, a message comes up which says " app canno t play as device is rooted". What does that mean and how can I fix it?

What official Android OS version (if any) is installed?

What is the "particular" app that won't open?

Has the tablet been "rooted", i.e. has a customized OS been installed in lieu of an official Android OS applicable to the make and model of the tablet?
