Why is my GoPro not recognising SD cards?

I have a GoPro Hero 3 which turns on fine, the camera works and everything but I cant actually use it due to it not recognising the SD cards im putting in. My guess is that something within the camera is broken, any suggestions to my problem or should I see about getting it repaired in store?

Presume you have been to the GoPro website and checked that your card is on the approved 'list'. GoPro supports only-popular-name-brand cards up to 64GB.

I had the same problems with brand xxx cards.

Try a known-good card.
