iPhone 6 Battery Percntage not increase while chrging?

I got an IPhone 6 dead because of not good quality of charger and the charger is BURNED !!

The guy sent in to me for repair, i suspect the faulty comes from Charging IC U1700. So I changed the U1700 and now its boot up normally. But the second issue is, the battery percentage are not increasing while charging. It did shows the charging symbol but its not charging the battery properly.

So whats the cause for this charging issue ?? Is is because of the Tigris ? or the battery connector itself ??

*I already changed a good charging dock and battery

The charging circuit consists of Tristar (Communicates with the charger), Tigris (Drives the actual current) and the PMIC (Which supplies power to the other devices). You'll need to look at all three, but focus on Tristar and Tigris first.

Fake charging is usually caused by Tristar so you may need to replace it again and while you're at it, check to insure it was properly soldered into place (you should get a clean pull). Check to make sure you have PP_TRISTAR_PIN. Do the same with Tigris and pay particular attention to C1402 & L1401.

You should also check FL2511 while you're at it to insure the gas gauge signal is getting through.

But how do I know if I soldered the tristar properly ? Is there any line need to check the value ??

It's hard to know if it was properly done, beyond having a working device. With experience, you'll get a sense of how well it went. All it takes is one solder ball to not connect properly. You could also have a defective IC, it's not uncommon for techs to try several Tristar's to get everything working properly.

When you pull Tristar, look for clean and consistent solder residue on all the pads as an indication of it being properly installed.

Okay I understand. So whats the normal reading for FL2511 ?

FL2511 is a ferrite bead. It acts as a resistor at high frequencies. Under DC conditions, like when you test it (measure across it) with a multimeter, it should appear as a short.

okay thnx sir !

In this case your charging diagnosis should include direct readings of the battery voltage. If you begin by reading a battery voltage of 3.8V, the plug the phone if for several minutes, you should eventually see 3.9v. Anything indication of charging from the phone screen could be inaccurate if you have a motherboard issue.
