MacBook Pro Retina 13.3" late 2013 {A1502} refuses to load macOS
Hi
I have been trying to get my A1502 Pro Retina late 2013 to work. I bought it second hand on eBay and the logic board has red indicators showing water damage but it chimes and tries to boot and the screen works. The keyboard also works but the trackpad doesn't. I have plugged in a wired mouse.
Using an internal SSD or external HDD with a fresh download of High Sierra does not work. I get the Apple logo and then the "no entry" sign. It then fluctuates between the Apple logo and no entry sign and occasionally I see the folder with a ? mark in it as well. The OS loading bar does not appear at all. I have also tried using USBs with bootable versions of Mavericks, El Capitan and Yosemite with no luck.
When I try using Internet Recovery the spinning globe appears and the loading bar but the countdown fluctuates and it always ends with a triangle with an ! mark and the error code -5010F followed by a number in brackets e.g. (45).
I've tried doing SMC and NVRAM as well as using the shift key to try booting in Safe Mode. All to no avail.
When I tried using single user mode I got the following types of messages
I can't enter any text using single user mode or verbose mode.
I have tried using Target mode to link the MacBook to my working machine but the HDD does not show up on the desktop.
It seems like the MacBook is trying to load but it's being prevented. I have very limited technical knowledge but researching the symptoms and reading various forums I thought that the issue might be linked to Boot ROM or BIOS / EFI?
I appreciate that the logic board is water damaged and that I am possibly wasting my time trying to fix this but would appreciate any help, feedback or advice on what I could do to make the MacBook actually boot up to the OS. The closest I have got is the language chooser page of the macOS High Sierra installation and then the pointer froze!
try Yosemite

Why is Yosemite a better option than the others?
