Rightside Backlight dim, Left side is fine.

Roughly a month ago, the right side of my IPhone 6+ started randomly going dim as if the back light wasn't on.

the Weirdest part of this is it is basically random, if i lock and unlock the phone with either the lock button or the home button, after a few locks and unlocks the light comes back on for a short time but randomly goes dim again.

TLDR: Right side backlight goes dim randomly almost as if the backlight is 2 seperate lights and the right side has loose wiring.

The backlight on the 6 Plus is, in effect, a dual circuit. There is a drive circuit for the left side and one for the right side.

In your specific case, it's hard to say if the problem is with the actual backlight (attached within the screen assembly) or if it is related to the drive circuit on the logic board. Ideally, you need to test the phone with a known-good replacement screen to see if the problem is consistent with the logic board or the screen.

If it is a logic board issue, then this requires a micro-soldering repair and is not DIY.

First try by replacing the lcd screen, if it does not work, check the anode path and the cathode lamp from ic to the lcd connector. If there is a short circuit on the path, replace the ic backlight. If the resistance value in the anode path indicates an abnormal number, replace the inductor. Does not close the possibility of the capacitor that has a high frequency. Iphone 6 plus got 2 ic backlight, right and left.
