My television is 6 years old and sometime the screen turns black after
my tv screen flickers and then turns black should i buy a new tv

@nhafner27 you are not telling us if the picture comes back on by itself or if you have to turn the set of. This could be the backlight on your set turning off because of a bad power supply. Replacing all the boards inside your TV would probably be still cheaper than a new TV. I'd at least look a the boards for obvious damage etc. You can always post some pictures of your boards with your question so we can se what you see. Use this guide iFixitでの質問に画像を追加する方法 for that.
