How to fix pink lines that appear when discrete GPU is used?

I have a 15" Early 2011 MBP that comes with an integrated Intel GPU and a discrete AMD GPU. Whenever the dedicated GPU is used, some pink lines appear on the white parts of the screen. However, the integrated GPU works just fine. Additionally, when I connect my laptop to an external display, I don't see the pink lines on the external display, but I see them on the laptop's screen.

I understand that Apple had a program to fix this issue, but that program does not cover my laptop anymore. Additionally, I have seen similar questions on the Internet, but I'm not sure whether their problem is similar to mine.

I have also seen different solutions such as replacing LVDS cable, logic board, etc. Has anyone tried any of these solutions?

P.S.

You can see a few pink lines at the top of white area and a big pink area at the bottom.

Yes this is most likely the all gpu error, However it may not be, one good thing is that almost all the issues with the gpu will show up on a diagnostic. if you could run one of these for me and get back to me with any errors that show up...

to do this switch on the Mac and press the alt + D key hold this until the diagnostic screen appears or you get the globe then select your language and start the test. any errors will appear in the log at the end of the test.

Further more if this is a problem with your GPU almost all fixes are temporary as the gpu is soldered to the main board so the only thing you can do is replace the board... However apple replaced the boards with the exact same gpu and solider that was in they never revised the board there for the problem will only re occur there a a few workarounds I can walk you threw once we know what the problem is.

Thank you for your reply. I ran the diagnostic a few weeks ago and it didn't show any errors.

This is most likely your lvds cable you could try reseating it at the logic board to see if it makes a difference they have a really small bracket holding them in that could come free over time.

The reason I think its the lvds is that if it was a gpu issue you would definitely see them lines on the external display

Thanks. I'll try tightening/replacing the cable and will report the result here.

It is your GPU. The LVDS cable NEVER FAILS!! And AHT NEVER shows GPU errors... Do not touch the cable. It is not your issue.

@tcrs_circuit if you read his post he is not receiving the lines on an external display when using an external display you are automatically are using the discreet GPU so if he isn't getting the lines then it isn't his GPU please fully read query's before answering.

Go to

system preference> displays> where it says Display and colors( select colors) > calibrate> continue>uncheck “use native white point” > move the slider till the pink disappears> continue by saving the calibration with whatever name you like
