Hi @kwick84 ,

1. Test the charger using a DMM (Digital MultiMeter - Voltmeter function) to ensure that it is supplying 19VDC. If not replace the charger.

2. If the charger tests OK try a power reset and check if this resolves the problem.

To perform a power reset, disconnect the charger from the laptop and disconnect the battery from the laptop.

Here is a link to the ifixit Samsung NP530U4BL Battery Replacement guide to help you. Remember you only have to disconnect the battery from the motherboard, not remove it from the laptop.

Once the battery is disconnected, press and hold the laptop's power button for 30 seconds and then release the button. This will drain any residual power from the laptop's motherboard.

Reconnect the charger to the laptop and switch it on. (leave the battery disconnected at this stage) Then turn on the laptop and check if it starts OK. If it does let it to boot all the way to the Windows desktop, allow the HDD activity to settle a bit and then shutdown the laptop in the normal way.

When it has completely shutdown, turn off the charger and disconnect it.

Reconnect the battery to the motherboard and then reconnect and switch on the charger.

Start the laptop and let it boot all the way to the Windows desktop.

If the battery indicator shows that it is charging allow it to fully charge before switching off the charger and disconnecting it.

If you find all this too daunting, I suggest that you contact a reputable, professional laptop repair service and ask for a quote to repair the laptop.
