Not all sound tracks playing in DVD mode.

While trying to play a DVD - some sound plays like background music on a movie, but not any voice tracks (or very, very, low not affected by volume control). I played a music CD and it sounded normal. Is there some maintenance or cleaning I can or should do to troubleshoot this?
