Not following thru the rinse cycle, why?

So my washer starts completely normal then stops at rinse cycle!! My latch has already been clunky,so i usually have to slam washer door or put something heavy on it to get the whole cycle done without interruption..now it just stops at rinse and nothing, just the sound of what to me sounds like the motor going. I can push the control knob and turn to spin and it finishes. Also noticed a small leak from a hose in the back, would that be part of this issue?? I did shut the hot water off cause that is what was leaking. Help me please!! Now i cant get the washer to rinse my clothes...
