Whirpool Dishwasher start/resume light never goes on.

I recently noticed that my start/resume light on my whirlpool dishwasher never goes on. I did put it into diagnostic mode (123...123...button pushing) but don't see or know how to read codes anyways. I did notice that all lights except the start/resume light go on in diagnotic mode. Is it possible that the start/resume light is out or has a bad connection. The washer is only 2 years old and hasn't had that much use. I also do notice that sometimes there is water in the bottom of the washer which makes me think that the cycle doesn't fully complete sometimes. I can pres drain and it will drain fine so not a clogged drain or tube problem (I've had that in the past:) Any thoughts?
