Bottom third of screen goes grey. Seems connected to door tilt.

This problem exists both in Windows 7 as well as during the laptop's setup program (when I hit F2 at boot up).

If I slightly tilt the script up or down, the bottom third of the screen goes grey. The grey disappears as long as (1) I maintain a certain angle and (2) and don't try moving the tilt of the screen. If the grey ever appears, I have to play around with the angle of the screen (scratching head).

I followed this you tube video (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9P_6fw-Vu...) to tighten the screen. Although I succeeded in tightened the hinge, I am still encountering the problem. Note: I was unable to tighten the lower hinge screws (I was only able to tighten the top hinge screws located behind the screen bezel).

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Cheers!

Mark

I just verified that an external screen, connected to the laptop, does NOT show the grey (that is, the external screen displays properly).

Sounds like the wires or ribbon is coming loose or has a short in part of the wiring or ribbon. This wire or ribbon will be connecting the screen to the motherboard. When you find it, you'll need to replace it with a new wire or ribbon. eBay has stuff like that. Good luck.
