Fan rev max speed when using only one CPU. Is this intended?

Hello.

I use Mac Pro 2011 (12?) with dual x5670 CPUs.

When I try to boot with one CPU removed, it gets fans rev max speed and makes hugh noise.

These are my attempt :

2 CPUs - normal

1 CPU on socket B - no boot (blink white led)

1 CPU on socket A - boot, but fans rev max speed.

1 CPU A with 1 cooler - max rev

1 CPU A with 2 coolers - max rev

I know swap with the different firmware CPU tray makes max fan, but thats begin immediate booting. In this case, it start with normal quiet, but getting super fast after a minute or two. Either Mac OS and Windows.

Also I found not important much but wierd symptom, CPU temp is very normal, but TDP is always max(checked HWMonitor on Windows).

Is this intended behavior? Like alarm for broken or not recognise one CPU or stealing one?

When doing any major changes like a CPU change, you will need to use the original system installation disk and run the fan syncing software, or you will get run away fans issues.

About the "fan syncing software" you mention, I searched the web and all I can found is your answer on another question thread. There is no trail about that in anywhere and even can't find it's name.

Is that really exist? If it is, can you tell me what's it's name or procedure?? I do have both OS X Installation Disc and Application Disc, there is no obvious "fan syncing software" or similar one.
