Constant trouble connecting right pod?

So in the last week or so, I have had increasing trouble finding my right Airpod. It just disappears completely from the system. Not literally, but neither my Mac, iPhone, nor iPad can find it when playing music. It only shows left battery life, and plays through the left pod

When lifting the pod up and down in the case, it flashes orange / green, which I believe means it has trouble connecting.

Every time I completely remove it by "forgetting it", and holding down the button on the back til it turns amber. Sometimes it works after 5 minutes, other times it takes hours

There is no specific pattern when it happens, but it is getting quite annoying having to hassle so much with a product which was magic in the beginning.

Will I have to take it back to my dealer? Bought it through a reseller in Europe, and am travelling for the next two months in Asia
