PS4 Won't Turn On, Unresponsive power button and eject button only bee

I left the PS4 running with a game playing. A person in our household sees it and proceeds to unplug the power cord from the outlet (without exiting anything or turning off the PS4). Now I tried turning on the PS4 but it doesn't respond, either through the controller or the power button.

The power button literally doesn't do anything; and if the PS4 is plugged in, the controller light blinks twice or thrice then stops as if it has turned on the PS4 already. (but when the PS4 is unplugged, it only keeps blinking) When I press the eject button, it only beeped once.

I've tried various solutions around the internet such as holding the power button, replugging both power cord and HDMI, trying another outlet and power cord, and tilting it different ways. I was able to manually eject the disc inside, which causes the eject button to beep 3 times now.

I've seen people say that it could be a power supply issue, so I went ahead and bought one online since the warranty is void already. After replacing the power supply, nothing changed. Still the same symptoms.

Anyone here who can help me fix the PS4 or at least give me an indication as to what the problem could be?

Same for me, but when i plugged mine in it had a power surge, and sometimes along with only the eject button beeping, but the power button being unresponsive, is if once in a lifetime when it would turn on sometimes it will turn back off. It makes me sad. Tried everything. Just gonna try replacing power box, if it doesnt work then i will replace the motherboard...

I have a similar problem but it is a lot worse. My ps4 power button is broken. I have tried to turn it on with a disc but nothing happens. When I try to turn it on with my controller nothing happens. It is a very old ps4 like a day 1 but I don't have the money to get a whole new system. Anyone know anything I can try?

from the sound of it the os could of been damaged from being unplugged abruptly you can download the os from playstation and attempt to update/reinstall the operating system and see if that works if not you could try to replace the power button ribbon cable but thats probably not your issue since you tried turning it on with the controller!

I just had the same problem as you, the power button doesn’t do anything, the disc ejection beeps 3 times, and then I just took any game disc, shoved it in the tray and it started!

Deadass this worked for me.. I didn't have to SHOVE it in though, just enough it tripped the sensor and powered on.. I've been stuck in a loop, unplugged for an hour and plugged back in, it power cycled then shut off but had no light, no buttons except Eject would make console beep.

I've been looking for HOURS and stumbled upon your reply..

Currently reinstalling system OS, will edit if any luck. 👍

Edit: Reinstalled system OS and installed 11.50, still stuck in Safe Mode loop.. 😭

The 3 beeps usually have a specially indication of a problem in general, but Sony historically likes to just have 3 beeps be the generic "something is wrong" code, which really isn't helpful. It sounds to me like the power supply being ripped out caused some unknown problem for it not turning on, but also caused a problem with the disc drive than can be replaced. If it can be turned on, replacing the disk drive isn't a problem, but thats not helpful if it doesn't turn on. My best advice would be to take a look at this page and toy around with it until someone more knowledgeable with the PS4 comes along

P.S something might have gotten rattled or shorted with the motherboard, which becomes a whole other problem on it's own, but I can't think of any reason why that would happen.

P.S.S If you ever have any problems with a PS3, come find me. there's a lot of fun things to do with those

Ok, everybody I have this exact issue as well, so far im able to get the PlayStation on by inserting any disk into it. Mine comes on as normal but unfortunately im immediately met with the safe mode death loop. And im stuck here after trying almost every possible thing to get out. Let me know if this helps.

Same here. Have you found a soulution? Anytime I try to update or reinstall. All it does is take me back to safe mode. It beeps itself into safe mode

I suspect it has something to do with the power button/Flex card

If you hit safe mode loop of death and nothing fixes it you'll have to re-initialiaze (not the one that says re-install system software) the ps4 NOTE THIS WILL DELETE ALL DATA THAT ISNT STORED ONLINE OR ON YOUR PSN ACCOUNT AND ANY ONLINE MULTIPLAYER GAME WILL NOT BE AFFECTED BUT ALL SINGLEPALYER CAMPAIGN PROGRESS WILL BE DELETED SO WILL THE PROFILES but as long as you remember your psn account your pretty much fine. And you'll have to reinstall EVERYTHING. Dont worry all games you purchased or downloaded are In ur library, but if you bought it on disc just stick the disc in and let it download

Mine just did that I powercycled and it started working as for what could cause it if it doesn't get moved around much and the top is dusty or dirty I recommend getting some compressed air and trying to blow all the dirt and dust away and out of it. If that doesn't work take it to a repair place and see if they can clean the inside I have to take air to it at least once every 3 months so if you've never cleaned it I recommend getting it done. Could also help with slowness

Hi my ps4 won’t turn on, no beeping or anything. I think I already have a disc in there so don’t think forcing a new one in will help. I haven’t used it for about 18 months. Any ideas please 🙏🏻

The actual power button doesn't work to switch it on at all. Also, there is a way to manually remove an inserted disc. It's a screw on the bottom that must be turned anti clockwise and the disc slowly comes out. But safe mode, I cannot get out of. Irritating as hell.
