Nikon D90 top flash will not stay latched closed.

The pop-up flash unit on top will not stay closed.

It looks like a spring fell out and maybe a retaining screw.

It looks like a simple repair if I had the parts and a little advice. Anyone solve this one?

A workaround would be to tape the flash down... I never use the on board flash anyway. Check with Nikon to see if it is still covered by warranty, if so its just a shipment away from being fixed. (Although, I must warn you, their service centers are slow, it may take up to a month to fix)

Dabe, you said you never use the board flash, but aren't you almost a professional photographer and know all about F stops?

I do know about the aperture, but it can't always compensate enough for the darkness. I use an external flash (580 EX II for Canons, SB900 for Nikons) for my flash. Some of my cameras don't even have a built in flash.
