Reassembly After Digitizer Repair

I have and RCA Tablet model RCT6303W87. The screen was cracked but it would still power on and you could see the screen, but it would not respond to touch, so I purchased a Digitizer on Amazon and replaced it. But now when I power on, the new screen appears cracked, and the screen is totally black. Does this mean I need to replace the LCD or did I do something wrong in my reassembly?
