Where does loose wire go?

Where do I connect the loose wire? The toy car was from Goodwill. Its never worked. It might flip when it runs into something. It has large wheels, has identical car bodies on top and bottom. One side is orange the other side is lime green. It looks like it would run into a wall and flip to the opposite side and keep going. I opened it up. It is battery operated but one black wire is loose. There is a dab of solder on of the battery terminals. The other terminal has I nicely wired, soldered connection with a small metal connector from a screw to a metal tab coming from the battery compartment. Any suggestions are welcome. Inside there's a date of 12/13/2000 and a large OK and "SM2858 HIPS". I tried to google these and found nothing. I just like old toys and fixing them for my 3yo grandson.

If there is no wire connected to the battery terminal where you say there is a dab of solder then that is likely the ground for the toy and you will need to reattach the black wire to that dab of solder . if you dont have access to a soldering iron you can use a hot air gun and heat the solder with it to the point of becoming liquid . If you have a soldering iron dab a little flux on the dab of solder and heat it with the iron when its in a liquid stat place the black wire in the solder then let it cool . Don't forget to bare the wire about a quarter inch before placing it in the solder. Hope this helps
