Screen appears to have soft wrinkles after replacing camera

I bought an iPad that needed a new rear facing camera.

I CAREFULLY opened the iPad, disconnected the battery, found the defective camera, replaced it, reconnected the power supply, and now the screen appears to have soft, undulating wrinkles on the upper half.

Looking for any answers!

Hi and thanks so much for your response.

The initial problem with the iPad was a bad rear camera, which is why I opened it. I used playing cards to pry the digitizer off and might've accidentally dug a little too deep between the digitizer and LCD. Pulled out two small pieces of 'wire fabric' looking stuff from one edge of the joint between the digitizer and LCD. I never even detached the connector or took off the cover plate.

What did you use to apply heat to get the adhesive loosened? Sounds like you used a hot air gun and it overheats the diffusion on the LCD panel causing it to wrinkle when it cools.

That sounds like it might be a loose connection or damage on the display cable. I would attempt to reseat the display cable and try again. When you reseat the display cable, don't put the iPad all the way back together before testing to avoid needlessly replacing the adhesive multiple times.

Try not to tighten the four lcd screws to much, if the problem still remains try applying a little heat from a save distance. This could help retract the wrinkles.
