Error 4013 iPhone 6

I have an iPhone 6 that sustained bad damage. It was dropped on the upper left corner near the silent switch. So much so the metal case buckled near the volume keys a bit. Obviously the screen is a lost cause. I went to try to see if iTunes could see it because it was the weekend and I couldn't get a new screen. When I plugged it in iTunes saw the phone as under a different account than what was signed in on the PC (phone belongs to a friend of my son). So I unplugged and put it aside (was getting g ready to go out for the night). Then I put the phone on a charger to make sure when I came back to it I had a charged battery.

When I came back to it I couldn't get the prompt to unlock the phone but iTunes was seeing it. So I plugged the screen back in and put the phone in DFU. I figured I'd try a upgrade and see if that helps. Well after it went through all that I got error 4013. I've read up on the error and feel it's NAND. I can't do a reball and don't want to pay for it. So the question is do you think a targeted reflow to just the NAND would work? By targeted I mean board removed and everything but NAND covered and protected. Then I hit the NAND with a heat gun. Not sure how long or at what temp. Thinking 30 sec at 400 F.

I would not try to do that--the NAND itself is sensitive to heat. The likelihood that this is a bad joint under NAND is low. More likely is a partial short on a NAND power rail--check NAND power rails for normal resistance to ground.

Before any of that, I'd try to kick it out of recovery mode and see if it can boot. You never want to try and solve hardware damage with a software solution. Update was a bad idea here--it is essentially asking the phone to look around and make sure everything is okay, if not, you have a brick.

I tried to get it out of recovery but it just boots right back into the mode (used method of holding power and home button down until I see the apple logo). Can you give me some direction on where to find info on NAND power rails? I'm new to this level of repair. I've mostly just done screens, buttons, batteries and ribbon cables. Logic board work is a hole new ballgame for me. I'm using this iPhone to get my feet wet and learn.
