Rubber Around Charging Cable has slowly been disintegrating.

for the couple of years i have had macs over time the chargers disintegrate. litterialy changeing colour from white to yellow'y and then Slowly falls off, even without toching my laptop or its charger for months the cable has disintegrated. leaving an exposed outer wire, that "seems"¿ to be ok to touch. i cant afford to get a new one and off brand chargers have a chance of melting.

besides re;sleaveing the whole cable what can i do. how dangerios is it?

is apple lieble for macing sometihng thats designed to fail and be "harmfull"

Sugru might be your answer.

It's like bluetack but it sets in place, you may be able to wrap it round the damaged area and should be ok with that, you could also cover it in electrical tape. Not sure how permanent these solutions would be but worth a shot for minimal cost.
