Why won't the latch on the lid lock?
Machine won't start due to inability to lock.

Try resetting it.
Hold the start/pause button for 3 seconds and then unplug it.
After 3 minutes plug it back in.
Put it on the settings that you want and then press the start/pause button and it should start sensing and then wash:

The door lock secures the washer door shut during operation. Once the washer door is closed, the washer can begin operating. If the door lock is defective, the washer door will not latch properly.
