I might have damaged the inverter cable

I bought an LCD screen at ifixit website and decided to replace it on my own. When I bought the screen I used the model number A1286 and did not use the LCD part number. This model number has unibody and non unibody macbooks. I have to clarify that this is a non unibody according to everymac.

Everything fit but now I can't see anything on the screen. It is completely black. I tried putting the old broken screen but I get the same problem. Is it possible that I might have damaged the inverted cable? Or is it possible that the LCD screen I got is not compatible.

I am pretty sure that the computer is working fine since I hear the sound when it boots up and it was working prior to replacing the screen.

Can you try plugging in an external monitor? That would let you know if this is a bigger issue. As the video cable is Ziff, did you pull it "away" and not up when you unplugged the old, using the provided clip/flip? Is the connector the same for the male portion (old versus new)? Once you plugged in the connector, were you able to swing the clip back over the top? Did it fit snuggly?

I removed the old screen and installed the new one again and it made my day. I am typing this on the macbook pro. I guess during the installation process I may not have connected the inverter cable properly. Thank you!
