My amp moves woofers inward when turned on.

Hello guys,my adcom 555ll amp when uturned on moves the woofers inward iinstead of forward.I replaced two diodes that were bad and a few bipolar transistors on the imput board.also replace the iec chassis male connector with a high end one.If I invert the polarity in this connector, would it make it right,or it has nothing to do?.please advice on where else should I check.thanks.Orlando.

Orlando, my NAD amp does this also. I believe that it is regular when amps do this. You should always have your volume off when you turn your amp on.

If it didn't do this before, then something is wrong. Does it make "WOOMP" sound?

Orlando Lomba I doubt that reversing the polarity on the connector will give you a different result. My main concern would be why the components originally had failed. It sounds like you still have failed diodes and others on the board. Use the service manual to check deeper. Adcom GFA-555 II

It sounds like there is getting DC current to the speakers. Place a Digital Multi-Meter on the red and black speaker jacks in the back of the amplifier after you disconnect the speakers. There is one black and one red for each side of left and right channels. After you connect the probes of the DMM to the right speaker jacks of the unit, turn the meter to DC voltage. Then power your amplifier on. Do this for both right and left channels. It should read 0 VDC on each channel. If it does not or reads above 10 vdc the DC offset on the amplifier needs to be adjusted. If you do not know how to adjust the DC offset then just keep you amplifiers pre-amp on 0 volume before power-up and take it to a qualified tech to have it adjusted.
