My laptop suddenly died a while back and I haven't been able to fix it. Basically, the computer won't turn on at all. I've tried jumping the power button and couldn't even get a fan wiggle. The only indication that there is some hope is the charging light. The light turns on when I plug in the cable, but nothing I've tried worked.
What do you guys think?

Have you tried the battery and charger on another laptop? Also using a miltimeter set to 20v stick one probe into the center of the charger and the other one on the outer metal casing. Does the voltage your getting match the voltage it says on the charger? And what has happened before this. Was there a power surge, did you spill water on it or did it just stop working.

I haven't tried the battery on another computer, but I tested the cables. I actually bought a newer version of this laptop when it died and tried both chargers on both computers. Both cables work on the new computer and trigger the charging light on the dead one (until recently when my new cable suddenly died haha).
Nothing happened before, I took very good care of this laptop. I remember sitting down to start some work and it turned off on me after a few seconds. I tried to reboot it and I couldn't get it to start back up.
I'll check the cable with a multimeter and get back to you with the results.
