The late 2005 Power Mac G5 was introduced in October, and discontinued in August the next year. There were three configuration options, one dual core processor at 2.0 GHz, one dual core at 2.3 GHz with model number A1177, and one dual core dual processor (quad core) at 2.5 GHz.

Going insane over trying to find the antenna for the WIFI Card

I've purchased a 2006 made PowerMac G5 and an Airport Extreme Card which fits nicely into the slot. The computer recognizes the card but I don't have internal antenna plugs inside the machine and my internet can't seem to find any networks. PLEASE ADVICE

Many thanks, Mark

The Airport and WiFi have small plastic looking attachments that plug into the back of the computer for antennae. You may be able to find them on eBay. They are about an inch and a half long. There are four listed on eBay right now. Look for Apple External Airport Antenna for Apple Power Mac G5. The Airport one has wings and the wifi is just straight without wings.

By the way, the wifi = airport antenna. The straight one is for Bluetooth.

The Late 2005 version of the Power Mac G5 had integrated wireless antenna's for AirPort and Bluetooth and should just need having the antenna plug pushed in to the card. If your machine is earlier version then you would use the T shaped Plug in Airport antenna (which you can get on ebay for about $20) plugged into back of machine. But the Late 2005 machines are integrated and you may need to look a bit harder at the inside to locate the antenna lead.
