Pop sound during boot and sometimes in macOS

Hi,

When I'm booting my mbp I can hear a loud pop sound, se video.

This happens 3 of 5 times during boot.

It does not matter if the mbp is warm or could, and it also happens during restarts.

Sometimes, but not often it happens in macOS also.

Today it did, the mbp did not have any load on it. It was just opend and I was talking in the phone when the pop sounded.

I have tried to stress test CPU,GPU,RAM and SSD but no sound.

I have manually tried different rpm on the fans nothing it sounds good.

I have tried smc/nvram reset.

I have tried reinstalling macOS.

The machine is only 2 days old.

So I'm curious what wrong with it? Because it's not normal.

Maybe something to do with the battery?

Can batteries pop?

The only things it could be are the fans (which you have ruled out), trackpad (the force touch might be working on it's own, but I doubt it) or the speakers (most likely, especially since it does it at boot when it should chime).

You can try removing the bottom lid, and listening to where the clicking sounds are coming from (speakers are to the left and right of battery). If it is coming from the speakers, use a T5 screwdriver to remove them, it is possible there is dust under, or they are bad.

The best thing to do though is return it to where you got it from. If it is 2 days old, there will be a warranty :)

I have left it to repair and he could not isolate the issue but the mbp are running some tests.

As this was my fifth DOA I did email Tim Cook and one from apple called me up today.

They will talk with the repair guy and return to me tomorrow.
