Why won't my washer agitate or drain completely?

The washer still cycles but it doesn't agitate at all, and when the clothes are done, you have to wring them out, especially the ones at the bottom of the washer.

Daniel Stillson it is entirely possible that you have trouble with the motor coupling. The motor coupling connects the motor to the washer transmission. The motor coupling can also fail due to normal wear. Inspect the motor coupling to determine if it is broken. If the motor coupling is broken, replace it. Post some images of your motor and transmission with your question. For that use this guide so we can see what you see. Also, give us the exact model number of your washer for the possibility of some more detailed answers.

Daniel Stillson , You do not state the model of your machine, There are a few thing that can cause a wash machine not to agitate properly and not drain completely. The agitator bolt could be loose allowing it to slip, (motor coupling or drive belt), drive motor, transmission, faulty board/timer control, any one of these being faulty could cause the issue.

If it was not cycling at all I would say probable faulty lid switch. Also check the pump and drain hoses for clogs, damaged pump impeller, faulty loose connection, faulty pump, etc. Use the links below as they contain good info. to help diagnose your washers issue. Good luck.

I hope this helped you out, if so let me know by pressing the helpful button.
