shawnoquin , Because of little info. supplied, not sure this is your problem. What I have noticed on a lot of trucks that have damaged wheel speed sensors, is that the backing plates/dust shields are rusted out or missing. With the shields not protecting the sensor from build up of gravel, mud, snow, ice, etc., the sensor can be damaged/wires pulled out, etc. Make sure the backing plates/shields front and rear, are in good shape and in place to help prevent damage. Posted a couple links showing backing plate/shields. Good luck.
I hope this helped you out, if so let me know by pressing the helpful button.

Are you talking about the transmission speed sensor, or the wheel speed sensor? Roads are rough, and anything you run over can damage the wheel speed sensor. That being said, it shouldn't break easily. The alternative to replacing it is an inaccurate/non-functioning speedometer, and possible transmission shifting issues. Even if it broke yearly, I would replace it in a heartbeat. You could also jack up the car, rotate the wheels and turn the steering linkage to make sure they aren't somehow brushing up against the sensor. Could be some other gremlin hiding in the shadows of the wheel well.
