After empting grounds message will not stop flashing

After emptying the grounds container, reassembling and insurting the tray the empty grounds message continues to flash. Of course the machine will not make coffee with this message flashing.

What I have done:

Reached in to tray compartment with light weight cloth (improve feeling things) reaching up into the spent coffee opening and wiping down all of the surfaces that could be reached. This restored the functionality of the machine, empty grounds message went away. Am wondering why this issue is not addressed in video or in the manual for the Impreea J5.

About my machine:

WATER; use water with a TDS of less than 10 ppm

ROUTINE SERVICE; run machine through CLEAN and DECALCIFY cycles when ever prompted using approved (Capresso) products.

MACHINE AGE/USE: eight years of at least six expresso/coffee servings per day. Machine never sent in to Capresso for rebuild.
