My laptop won't turn on, light up, or charge.

A while back my asus started lagging a lot, the touchpad wouldn't work at all and google chrome wouldn't load. If google did open, it would start lagging and freezing. Then I left the laptop alone ,because it was useless at this point, for a few weeks. Then, I had to type a paper for school and I didn't have anything to type it on so I tried turning on my laptop and it worked fine. Not as laggy as before but it still lagged so I typed up my paper, printed it and that was that but I didn't use it to go on the internet still because of the lag. A few days later I tried to get on my laptop and it wouldn't turn on at all API thought it was dead so I plugged it in still nothing. I left it plugged in all day and nothing. The charging light won't even turn on and I honestly don't think it has to be charged but I don't know how I'm gonna turn it on. Any advice?
